Dispersant D111R (similar to BYK-111) is a solvent-free wetting and dispersing agent designed for high-solid, solvent-based, and solvent-free coatings and printing inks. It is particularly effective at stabilizing inorganic pigments, especially titanium dioxide.

Due to its anionic properties, D111R is highly suitable for acid-catalytic systems such as coil coatings. The additive de-flocculates pigments through steric hindrance, and because the flocculated pigment particles remain very small, high gloss and color intensity are achieved. Transparency and hiding power are also increased. The product reduces viscosity, thereby improving leveling and allowing higher pigment loading.

Performance Characteristics

Increases gloss and reduces haze.

Especially suited for high-solid and solvent-free coatings, particularly those based on titanium dioxide.

Recommended Dosage

Inorganic Pigments	2.5 – 5%
Titanium Dioxide	1 – 3%

Storage and Packaging

Available in 25 kg and 50 kg plastic drums. Store protected from light and moisture at normal temperature. The storage period is 24 months.

When stored below 10 °C, stratification and turbidity may occur. Heat to 20 °C and mix thoroughly before use.
