High Adhesion Phenolic Novolac Epoxy Resin NPPN-638S

1, General Description

NPPN-638S is a specially engineered phenolic novolac epoxy resin optimized for maximum adhesion to metallic and composite substrates. Through controlled molecular architecture featuring a balanced distribution of hydroxyl and epoxy functional groups, this resin achieves lap shear strengths exceeding 20 MPa on degreased aluminum and over 18 MPa on cold-rolled steel, representing a 35-50% improvement over standard BPA-based epoxy adhesive resins. The phenolic backbone contributes to exceptional adhesion through strong hydrogen bonding to metal oxide surfaces while epoxy groups form covalent bonds with surface hydroxyl species. NPPN-638S semi-solid consistency enables formulation into film adhesives and paste adhesives with excellent thixotropic properties.
